Professional experience
Christina Ferraro, MD is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with subspecialty expertise in breast imaging. She currently serves as the Section Head of Breast Imaging at Valleywise Health and as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
Dr. Ferraro completed her Women’s Imaging Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, where she trained in advanced breast imaging modalities including contrast-enhanced mammography, tomosynthesis, breast MRI, and image-guided procedures. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology Residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, preceded by a General Surgery internship at Maricopa Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine.
A dedicated breast imager, Dr. Ferraro provides comprehensive screening and diagnostic services, performing mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and minimally invasive biopsies. Her clinical interests include imaging of dense breast tissue, innovative techniques in early cancer detection, and improving access to high-quality breast care for underserved communities.
Dr. Ferraro is committed to medical education and mentorship, regularly teaching radiology residents and medical students. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in women’s imaging and continually advocates for improved imaging access and equity across Arizona’s health systems.
